Alex Acord has been diving
since 2006 and is currently
working on his Master Diver
Certification. He is a Junior at
Lamar University - Beaumont.
He is a former volunteer with
Moody Gardens Aquarium in
Galveston. He is currently a
volunteer scientific diver for
Texas State University in San
Marcos. He has been involved
in conservation efforts in Spring
Lake (Aquarena Center) and
the Comal River.
Our Staff
Scuba Brothers is the largest dive center in Southeast Texas. It is located in Nederland, Texas
and serves the communities of Jefferson and Orange County. It is owned by Allen and Anne
Acord and is named for their two sons, Alex and James. The center specializes in all aspects of
diving including training, equipment, service and travel.
James Acord started
diving when he was
eleven. He is working
toward his Junior
Advanced Certification.
His favorite destination is
Cozumel and the Cayman
Islands. In 2008, he
helped clean the Comal
River in New Braunfels as
part of the Trashfest
Project.
